鹿児島県鹿屋市にある大隅湖。
1967年のダム完成以後たびたび目撃情報が寄せられてきた「オッシー」。
ダム建設のために、地中に埋まっていた恐竜の卵が、水に浸かることで孵化し誕生したと言われている。
それ以来、大隅湖の守神として、鹿屋市の繁栄に寄与してきたそうだ。
しかし、2016年に大隅半島に上陸した台風16号の被害により、大隅湖の一部が土砂と流木で埋まってしまった後、目撃がなくなる。
鹿屋市は、市民ボランティアと共に、大隅湖の広場の整備を行い、台風被害の4年後の2019年10月19日に大隅湖復興祭を開催。
同時開催された花火大会は、4年ぶりの開催となり、市民の楽しみの場となる。
デッドストック工務店は、復興祭の3日前の11月17日に大隅湖に現地入り、そこでオッシー伝説を聞き、２日間で流木を使いオッシーを復活させた。

Lake Osumi is located in Kanoya City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
“Ossie” has been frequently witnessed since the completion of the dam in 1967.
It is said that the dinosaur eggs buried in the ground were hatched by being immersed in water for the construction of the dam.
Since then, he has contributed to the prosperity of Kanoya City as the guardian of Lake Osumi.
However, after Typhoon No. 16 landed on the Osumi Peninsula in 2016, part of Lake Osumi was buried with earth and sand and driftwood.
Kanoya City, together with citizen volunteers, improved the Osumi Lake Square and held the Lake Osumi Reconstruction Festival on October 19, 2019, four years after the typhoon damage.
The fireworks festival held at the same time will be held for the first time in four years, and will be a place for citizens to enjoy.
The Deadstock Corporation entered the lake on November 17th, three days before the Reconstruction Festival, where they heard the Ossie legend and revived Ossie using driftwood in two days.
